Waiting for a quote on my Rolls Royce has been painful any advice?
Waiting for a quote on my Rolls Royce has been painful any advice?
Honestly, I never thought I'd be posting in a forum about this, but here I am feeling a bit frustrated and hoping someone can guide me. I have a Rolls Royce Ghost that started making this weird humming noise from the rear suspension area about two weeks ago. Nothing crazy at first, so I ignored it, but now it's getting louder and I'm pretty sure it's not going to fix itself. I called three different garages that claimed they work on luxury cars, and two of them said they'd "get back to me with a quote" and never did. The third one gave me a number that seemed so high I almost laughed on the phone. A friend suggested I learn more about this offer from a place that specifically mentions Rolls Royce repair in Abu Dhabi, and I'm thinking maybe I've been looking in the wrong places by going to general luxury garages instead of specialists. But here's my real question for you guys how do you actually vet a mechanic for a car like this? Is it just about asking for certifications, or do you look for something specific like experience with the N74 engine or the magic carpet suspension? I'm not someone who knows everything about cars, but I also don't want to hand over my keys to someone who's going to learn on my vehicle. What questions should I ask before I agree to any repair? And is a humming noise in the rear suspension something I should be panicking about, or can I drive it for another week while I figure things out? Really appreciate any honest advice from people who've been through this.
